STAR and STAR-320 systems have been designed to enable the emergency and loudspeaking, dispatcher's, and telephony communication at mining plants with methane hazard. These systems can be used at places with high noise levels, large humidity and dustiness. The presented systems combine the telephone function in the subscribes network as well as dispatcher's function (in cooperation with the telephone exchange) and special emergency and loudspeaking function which guarantee fast simplex loudspeaking communication between the dispatcher and the points equipped with telephone signaling devices ZITG. They also enable fast flow of information on any current hazards between the plant personnel and the dispatcher, as well as announcing conventional evacuation signals and verbal messages. The utilization of telephone signaling devices of versions ZITG enables sending of information from the two-stage sensors to the system of dispatcher's supervision (SD2000 or microHADES-ZEFIR) and controlling commands from the dispatcher's room to the executing circuits.
The basic version of STAR system of the capacity up to 192 NN can be used in smaller mining plants which have only one mining traffic. The STAR-320 system may be utilized both at big centralized plants which require the capacity up to 384 NN, and at the plants with the dispersed structure, which are located apart from one another by the distance which is limited by the transmission device (copper cable - up to five kilometers or light pipe - up to 30 killometers).
